Hide AdHousing is also more affordable, which means workers have more disposable income, states the report released this week by leading online recruitment company Glassdoor.
They list the top 20 places in the UK to work. Top of the list is Cambridge, which has the greatest job satisfaction score. But the average salary there is lower than Milton Keynes and house prices are higher.
Third on the list is Nottingham, followed by Leeds, Peterborough and Coventry.

Hide AdSurprisingly London is not in the top 20 - mainly because it is such an expensive place to live, said Glassdoor chief economist Dr Andrew Chamberlain.
Milton Keynes, where more than 76 per cent of the working population are in work , has one of the best employment rates in the country.
The past year has been a particular success story, with unemployment among 18 to 24-year-olds plummeting by a whopping 25 per cent.

CMK Jobcentre spokesman Charlotte Turrell said:“There are now more people in Milton Keynes in work than ever before.
“This is a credit to the hard-working people and businesses alike.”

Hide AdUnemployment has been dropping steadily in MK for the past five years. In 2010 there were 6,720 people claiming Jobseekers allowance, but today that is down to 2,045.
The Jobcentre attributes much of the success to the “vibrant” nature of MK and the businesses it attracts.
