TV presenter Lorraine Kelly made a special trip to Milton Keynes today to be part of the MK Job Show.
Breakfast’s leading lady spent the morning promoting Avon, which is looking for new employees at the two-day business event.
After being interviewed on stage at the show’s launch, Lorraine spent time talking to visitors at the Avon stall in centre:mk - and admitted her fondness for the city. Speaking to the Citizen, Lorraine said: “I love Milton Keynes. It very much reminds me of East Kilbride.
“I started off working on the East Kilbride News and the two towns are very similar.
“They are both new towns and have loads of roundabouts. You can get lost, but as soon as you know where you are going it’s absolutely fine.
“I also love the fact that everything is built very specifically. I like the organisation with the grid system, it’s great.”
Lorraine, who was recently announced as the UK face of Avon ANEW, says she has seen women “blossom” soon after getting involved - and wants to spread the word.
She joined thousands of other employers and employees at the MK Job Show outside John Lewis in Middleton Hall.
The event is running today and tomorrow between 10am and 6pm to showcase thousands of employment and training opportunities.
Entrance to the event is free for visitors.
