They were each sentenced to three years in prison on Tuesday.

The charges relate to burglaries in Calverton Road in Stony Stratford and Horsefair Green in Stony Stratford in the early evening of September 19.

Ryan and Woodley entered the property in Horsefair Green through an unsecure door but once inside they were challenged by the occupant.

In Calverton Road, they also entered through an unsecure door but the property was unoccupied at the time and they stole jewellery.

Both men were arrested shortly after the offences and all the stolen property was recovered by Thames Valley Police.

Ryan and Woodley were charged on July 20.

Det Con Chris Oakman from Milton Keynes local CID said: “I’m pleased that two burglars are now behind bars and I hope that this sentence will serve as an appropriate deterrent to them and other would-be criminals.

“Thames Valley Police will do everything in our power to track down offenders and bring them to justice.

“In this case, the burglars took the opportunity to enter the properties through unsecured doors.

“I would like to remind residents that it is important to ensure doors are properly locked. More crime prevention advice is available on the Force website.”
