The Volunteer Centre, Milton Keynes provides an essential service to local not for profit organisations in recruiting volunteers.

This week it is focusing on the UK’s leading children’s epilepsy charity The National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE).

THE National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE) seeks to create better futures for young people who suffer from severe epilepsy and associated neurological conditions.

It cares for young people and children helping with diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

The National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy needs your support to help change lives and create better futures for over 60,000 young people with epilepsy.  The NCYPE is currently raising awareness of its brand new campaign, ‘My Purple Pledge’ within the Milton Keynes area and asking local people to get involved and help children who live with severe epilepsy.

The NCYPE’s ‘My Purple Pledge’ campaign runs from March to May and during this time it celebrates Purple Day on Saturday, March 26, and National Epilepsy Week May 15-22 to help raise awareness about epilepsy.

There are many ways in which you can get involved in this exciting campaign to show your support for children and young people living with epilepsy. They are encouraging the local community to help raise funds for the NCYPE by organising fundraising activities, for example why not pledge to organise a ‘Purple Day’ within your office or ask your local school to organise a fundraising event?

Carry out a sponsored walk or simply lie in a bath of blackcurrant squash! The aim is to spread awareness and to raise as much money as possible for a really important cause.

Visit today and pledge your support! Once they have received your pledge they will send you a free fundraising pack with some fantastic ideas to help you think of your perfect fundraising activity!

The NCYPE are looking for volunteers within the Milton Keynes area to help form a fundraising group – if you would like to have fun and raise funds for this amazing children’s charity then the following opportunity may be of interest.
