THE campaign to save Stony Stratford Library is still going strong, with a read-in taking place this weekend.
Friends of Stony Stratford Library – FOSSL – have already achieved worldwide fame with their ‘Wot, No Books’ campaign which saw 16,000 books fly off the shelves in a bid to show Milton Keynes Council they are still providing a vital service after the authority announced they would be looking into the future of libraries in the city.
Now they are taking part in a national scheme by the Save Our Libraries group, by holding a read-in on Saturday February 5 between 11am and midday.
And last week also saw the launch of a range of ‘Save Stony Library’ mugs, t-shirts and bookmarks, which are now on sale exclusively at Odells.
Karen Parker, who designed the souvenirs, was delighted with the response.
She said: “Odells have already sold out of mugs three times, which is more than I ever dared hope for.”
