Kents Hill School has had a major boost after it was successful in gaining £30,000 to develop new outdoor sports facilities at its site.
The funding is part of Sport England’s £18 milllion National Lottery-funded Primary School Facilities Fund, which is helping more schools to provide outdoor multi-activity play areas.
The investment, which is designed to support schools in greatest need of facility improvements, will benefit both pupils at the school and those who attend their popular after-school provision.
At Kents Hill School, the new investment has gone towards creating an exciting new area within the existing playground and improvement to part of the playground surface.
Headteacher Linda Coveney, said: “I am pleased to be able to use this funding to enhance the playground space significantly for the children.
“An integral part of the equipment houses a net, a goal and other games-based activities. The children have been excited to use the new space.”
