Visitors to the scenic ponds at Central Milton Keynes, were horrified to see the dead fish this week.

“The ponds were all dried off and a large number of beautiful carp were lying there dead, with other, smaller fish, gasping for breath in the tiny puddles that remain,” said one visitor.

It is not known who owns the ponds, which are next to the Jaipur but nothing to do with the restaurant.

It is believed the pump that keeps them full of water had been switched off.

“It was a beautiful, but largely unknown spot of tranquility in the city. To see the fish suffer like this was shocking,” said the visitor, who has reported the matter to the RSPCA.
