People living on the Lakes Estate will soon be experiencing improvements to their homes thanks to RegenerationMK.

The group has appointed contractor FSG Property Services to help the homes become more energy efficient.

RegenerationMK is the name given to Milton Keynes Council’s Regeneration Programme focusing on neighbourhoods to help provide better housing and local public space, and communities to help people gain skills and find work, and to get more involved in the way their neighbourhood is run.

Over the coming 16 months the council will be teaming up with FSG Property Services to carry out Phase 2 of the energy efficiency project for the Lakes Estate.

They will be repairing or installing windows and doors, energy-efficient boilers, insulation, cladding systems, brickwork, canopies and re-roofing on a number of homes.

The project will run from April until next summer and Milton Keynes Council will be arranging two drop in sessions for residents on the Lakes estates to find out more.

These will be on March 13 between 12pm and 7pm at the Lakes Community Centre and March 18 between the same times at Water Hall School.

During the improvement works FSG staff will be on the Lakes Estate in a resident liaison van to answer any questions about the scheme.

They will be available on the van every Monday and Wednesday for tenants to visit with any questions they may have about the works being carried out.

FSG are also giving tenants from the Lakes Estate and surrounding area the opportunity to apply for jobs to help with the project!
