THE Leisure Plaza casino plans would see a huge redevelopment of a ‘tired and run down facility’, according to developers.

The application, which has been granted detailed planning permission, would see a 9,000 square metre retail store, fully refurbished ice rink and the 3,798 square metre casino.

Around 140 new jobs would also be created in the Casino part of the development.

The design carefully considers the relationship to adjoining properties and areas to make sure there is more opportunity for interaction and access with the surrounding facilities.

Director of Abbeygate Helical developers, Clive Faine, said: “In summary the new casino on the Leisure Plaza is a crucial part of our proposals to enable the regeneration of the currently tired and run down facility.

“It will secure the funding necessary to ensure the future of the important ice facility, the home of the Milton Keynes Lightning ice hockey team, for generations to come.”
