Let's celebrate our children and family centres in Milton Keynes

All of the centres are open for most of the year, with average of 500 people visiting daily.

They offer a huge range of support services from antenatal support, baby groups, through to Time for Twos, youth support, parenting support and employment support.

Here are 10 facts you may not know about Children and Family Centres in Milton Keynes.

There are 17 Children and Family centres in Milton Keynes in total. Thirteen are Children centres and four are Family centres. Eight are in The North of MK, four in the Central area and five in the South.

An average of 500 individuals visit centres daily.

Two of the Family centres have day nurseries attached and a cafe area.

The centres offer lots of different sessions, from messy play, to cooking, budgeting courses and development checks.

More than 78,000 Individuals are registered at centres across Milton Keynes

When you join the centre you have a card to just swipe in.

All the centres work with a variety of partners from health visitors, midwives, tutors, employment advisors to artists.

The centres are open for up to 51 weeks in the year from 8.30 am every day.

The Children centres are for Parents/Carers and their under 5’s whilst the Family centres are for Parents, their children, older children and the wider family.

The centres have something for everybody and offer play sessions, adult education, training, fun days, physical activity, holiday sessions and any support whenever needed.

Zoe Nolan, cabinet member for children and young people, services said: “We are very proud of our children and family centres in Milton Keynes and we have committed to keeping them open, despite many hundreds of these facilities being closed up and down the country.

“They provide a vital ‘helping hand’ for local families, linking them with support services, activities, and facilities which they may well struggle to access on their own.”
