THE time has come, my friends, to bid you a fond farewell. When I started this column a year ago I hoped to inspire and entertain you with my fashion wonderings, and I hope I have done so.
For the past three and a half years I have been a features writer, not only on Style magazine, but also Chill Out children’s magazine, Tiny Citizens, Brides in Bucks and the long gone, but not forgotten, MK Review and Seasons in MK. But Style was always my baby...
From chatting with Brian Connelly and driving a Porsche at Silverstone, to arranging big fashion shoots and testing beauty products, this job has been a lot of things, but most of all it has been a hell of a lot of fun.
I’ve dined in some of the finest restaurants in Buckinghamshire, met some of the most interesting and inspiring people, and made some great friends.
I’ve had the joy of working with some great editors, sales staff and contacts, who have made this job even better.
There aren’t many people who can honestly say they love their job, but for the past few years I have been one of those people.
Alas, it couldn’t last forever, and in just a couple of weeks time I will be packing up my stylish bags and moving on.
I have loved writing this column and rambling to you on a weekly basis about how life should be your own personal catwalk – and I still believe that.
Also this column would not have been half as successful if it wasn’t for the help of the very talented and gorgeous Lizzie Bailes, who has provided countless beautiful illustrations for this column since January.
Today, as you read this, it is my birthday. Today I’m 26, I have a lovely boyfriend, my own house, a cat and several wardrobes full of clothes. I’m moving on to new challenges, I don’t know what they are yet, but I am sort of excited.
