Dedicated sixth form pupils have been busy passing on the skills to save a life to their peers.
Students at Sir Herbert Leon Academy are whole-heartedly embracing the opportunity to train in CPR following a drowning incident involving a former student.
To mark British Heart Foundation national awareness day, sixth form pupils who have achieved CPR leader status trained more than 200 younger pupils during their lunchtime. The CPR leaders will also be training pupils at Drayton Park Primary School and other nearby schools over the next few weeks.
The school has trained nearly 350 pupils with a British Heart Foundation CPR training kit over the last twelve months. Teachers hope to run whole-school CPR training quarterly to maintain awareness.
