WHATEVER it puts its mind to, Stony Stratford does well, and this Saturday it is time for the traditional Christmas lights switch-on, so prepare for a bright time of things!
Family entertainment, stalls, dancers, Mummers, musicians, Bernese Carter Dogs, Emmet’s fairground and hot festive food will add flair to the affair.
Cries of oyez-oyez will ring out around the High Street, as Town Crier Malcolm Jones spreads the good news and MK Amateur Operatic Society panto characters will be out and about, and giving a mini-performance of The Little Mermaid & the Pirates over in the market Square.
Music will figure too – artists including Roddy Clenaghan and Social Status will go live throughout the day
Santa will take time out from packing his sleigh to attend the bash – catch him in his grotto from 10am.
A Children’s Lantern Procession will leave York House at 4.15pm and the all important switch will be flicked by Golden Sea Chinese Takeaway fella Sam, at 5pm prompt.
