Linking to the community at meeting

LINk:MK will be holding its Annual Citizens’ Meeting on Thursday and all are invited.

The meeting will be held at the Discovery Suite, Milton Keynes Christian Centre, Strudwick Drive, Oldbrook, Milton Keynes, MK6 2TG.

Any member of the public is invited to attend to find out about what they do. Over 1000 registered LINk:MK participants and groups have received a formal invitation. A free light buffet will be served from 5.30pm alongside live entertainment, with the main agenda running from 6pm to 7pm.

There will be information on two new aspects of health & social care, relevant to everyone in Milton Keynes:-

Healthier Together’ Programme (formerly known as the Acute Services Review) from Ed Neale, Chair of Clinical Senate, Medical Director Bedford Hospital and Steve Lowden, Chair, Patient and Public Advisory Group. They will speak about the project and how you can be involved and have your views heard with regard to the future planning of services that include five hospitals, Milton Keynes along with Bedfordshire, Kettering, Luton and Northamptonshire.

Milton Keynes Councils New Shadow Health & Wellbeing Board that will look at all aspects of health and wellbeing provision across Milton Keynes.

A BSL Interpreter will be available and the venue is suitable for wheelchair access.

The Citizens Meeting is also a chance to network with other participants and groups and meet our newly elected members. We will be introducing our 2011 /12Annual Report, giving an update on our Work Programme and explaining the way we will work over the coming year and the changes that are likely to take place.
