A sponsored fun walk in aid of a number of charities is being held at Caldecotte next week.
The Lions Club of Milton Keynes Central is hosting event for The Henry Allen Trust and Lionistic charities on Sunday, September 6, starting at the Caldecotte Arms and covering a route of 3.7 miles - and its open to everyone of any ability.
Girish Poojari, club president, said: “The Henry Allen Trust is a charity that is close to the hearts of some of our members and the work they do in supporting children and families as they battle childhood cancer is invaluable to our local community.
“Our previous fun walk raised a little under £3,000. We are hoping this year will be bigger and better with the people of Milton Keynes getting out and about for some quality family time whilst raising money for some great causes.”
Registration for the event is £5 per registered participant and this will include a bottle of water to keep hydrated during the walk and refreshments after completion. All registered participants will also receive a certificate to commemorate their achievement and support.
Dawn Allen, director and founder of The Henry Allen Trust, said: “We are delighted to be the chosen charity for the Lions Charity Fun Walk. The Henry Allen Trust works closely with hospitals and other oncology services to improve processes within child cancer services as well as providing support and helping create special memories for children and families throughout their childhood cancer journey. This would be impossible without the continued support shown by our local community and organisations such as Lions Club of Milton Keynes Central.”
Registration will open at 10am at the Caldecotte Arms. For further details and sponsorship forms at http://lionsclub-mkc.co.uk/?page_id=475
