Amanda ran her first London Marathon for the charity, and after training hard for 12 weeks, reached the finish line in five hours and 11 minutes.

“Completing the London marathon has been a goal of mine for many years. I feel immensely proud to have achieved what I have and supporting YMCA has been the icing on the cake,” Amanda said.

“YMCA Milton Keynes provides an amazing service to people across the country and for many is a new start for an amazing future.

“Running 26.2 miles is the hardest thing I have ever done, but it was incredible and I am already thinking about my 2017 application.”

YMCA provides almost 10,000 beds for people every night at its bases across the UK. It is the largest voluntary sector provider of safe, supported accommodation for young men and women.

“We wish to thank Amanda for her amazing hard work both in training and fundraising for the London Marathon this year,” said YMCA MK fundraising and events manager Shahnaz Hussein.

“Anyone who has completed a marathon anywhere in the world will know just how hard it is to get over the finishing line.

“We are so proud of Amanda and grateful for everything she has done to support the YMCA this year,” she added.
