PEOPLE over 20 looking for a new challenge are being urged to join the Air Cadets.

207 (Cranfield) Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC) are one of over 900 Squadrons that make up the UK’s premier youth organisation.

Also known as the ‘Air Cadets’, they offer young men and women aged from 13 to 18 the opportunity to partake in a wide range of activities such as flying, gliding, camping, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, leadership skills, marksmanship, sports, adventure training, abseiling, kayaking and problem solving to name just a few.

The Squadron motto - ‘Semper Paratus’ or ‘Always Prepared’- is the embodiment of the aims of the ATC, not only enabling the Cadets to be physically but also mentally prepared for all they face as they enter adult life along which ever path they choose.

All this would not be possible if it weren’t for our band of adult volunteers putting in the effort to arrange, facilitate and even take part in some of the activities that are on offer to the cadets and this is where you could help.

They are in need of more volunteers to support their ever growing unit as they continue to raise the standard and become a leading Squadron in the area. All they ask is for two hours twice a week and the occasional weekend to help develop the youth of today into the adults of tomorrow.

If you would like to get in touch or simply see a little more, please visit their new website at www.207atc.org or call them on 01234 752030 (Monday and Thursday evenings from 7.15pm to 9.30pm.
