Thousands of people helped to make Milton Keynes a UK-wide talking point as #LoveMK trended on social networking site Twitter on Wednesday.
Famous faces from across the city, including MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman, and his team’s manager Karl Robinson got involved and a poster featuring the hashtag was posted on scores of focal points across the city. Organised by Destination Milton Keynes the #LoveMK Day saw people tweeting messages with the hashtag #LoveMK. It even appeared on the top 10 trends list as a mark of how much support the initiative received.
Carys Underwood, of Destination MK, said: “Destination Milton Keynes would like to thank everyone who got involved with #LoveMK Day. To actually see #LoveMK trending in the UK was amazing and just shows how much pride residents and businesses have in Milton Keynes and will hopefully prove to some of the doubters that MK is a fantastic can-do destination.”
