A glider pilot had a lucky escape when his aircraft came down in a field close to a railway line in Old Farm Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services responded to calls that a glider had crashed, but upon arrival the man had already emerged from the aircraft uninjured.

The glider was heading for Cranfield but came down in a field near Beethoven Close.

The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance also arrived at the scene, but the man was able to walk away with no more than cuts and bruises.
