Man arrested following fatal collision in Milton Keynes

A 24-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been arrested following a fatal road traffic collision on Sunday morning.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the collision which happened on the A5 Northbound Exit Slip, Central Milton Keynes on the approach to the H5 Portway. At around 4:30am a white Ford Focus travelling northbound on the A5, left the carriageway at the exit slip colliding with the barrier and bridge.

A 25-year-old man from Milton Keynes suffered multiple injuries and sadly died at the scene.

A 24-year-old man, also from Milton Keynes, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit through drink, driving whilst unfit through drugs, leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position and driving with no insurance.

He has been bailed until 17 December 2016.

“We are investigating how incident happened and specialist officers are offering support to the man’s family at this difficult time,” said investigating officer Sgt Daniel Collett.

“We are aware that a second vehicle was stationary on the exit slip road and we urgently need to clarify whether or not this silver car had any involvement in this road traffic collision.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision, or a parked vehicle on the slip road before the collision should contact Sgt 498 Daniel Collett, Thames Valley Police on the non emergency number 101 and quote the URN 299 16/10/2016 2016.”
