Man charged in connection with burglaries in Olney

Police have charged a man in connection with burglaries in Olney following a spate of break-ins around the town.

Anthony Ash, aged 43, of Booth Meadow Court, Northampton, has been charged with two counts of burglary.

The charges are in connection with burglaries last month Hipwell Court and Spinney Hill Road.

Mr Ash appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court and has been remanded in custody.

Acting Detective Inspector Paul Killingley: “There have been a number of burglaries in Olney recently and we are working tirelessly to put a stop to them.

“We are undertaking daytime and night-time reassurance patrols and we would urge residents and businesses to take the necessary crime prevention measures.

“There is a great deal of crime prevention advice, both for businesses and residents, on the Thames Valley Police website.

“If anyone has any information relating to the recent burglaries, or has any concerns, they can call the police non-emergency number 101.

“There is a community meeting which the Force has set up on Thursday at the Olney Centre between 6pm and 7pm where officers will be present to answer queries from members of the public.”
