Man convicted over conspiracy to commit burglary

A man has been convicted of conspiracy to commit burglary at the Mercure Parkside Hotel at Woughton on the Green.

Simon Wilcock, aged 31, of Farndale Avenue, Coventry, was sentenced to 10 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work. The conspiracy charge relates to four burglaries at the hotel between 8pm and 10pm on July 2, 2014.

Four hotel rooms were broken into, car keys were stolen from each room and three cars were taken from the car park, Aylesbury Crown Court was told.

Wilcock was arrested on January 29, 2015 and charged on the same day.

He pleaded guilty to the offences on August 5, 2015.

Other charges of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle were allowed to lie on file.
