Man found guilty of aggravated burglary in Milton Keynes

Andrew Cromwell, aged 25, of no fixed abode, was found guilty with a majority verdict at Amersham Crown Court last week.

On 28 January 2016, police were called to a property in Crownhill to reports of an aggravated burglary.

Cromwell entered the property, along with three other men, one of whom was armed with a knife.

The men threatened the victim while searching the property.

The victim, aged 50, was found to have minor injuries to his body including bruising and swelling.

A large amount of personal goods were also stolen from the property.

Cromwell was charged with aggravated burglary on 4 February this year.

“This was a nasty attack, which has understandably left the victim traumatised,” said Investigating officer, Det Con Serena Bellis.

“Fortunately such incidents are very rare in the area but if anyone has any concerns or information about this incident we would ask them to call us on 101.

“Thames Valley Police officers work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice and to face the consequences of their actions. I am pleased the victim of this incident can be reassured Cromwell will now serve a custodial sentence as a result.”

Cromwell is due to be sentenced on September 5.
