Man is found guilty of child sex offences

Jack Barnes, aged 18, of Grangers Croft, Hodge Lea, was found guilty of one count of causing / inciting a girl under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The offence took place between May 12 2010 and May 7 2011 in Milton Keynes.

On Tuesday , before a retrial began at Aylesbury Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration and one count of sexual assault on a female.

The first offence took place between 12 May 2011 and 7 May 2012, and the second offence took place on 9 October 2014.

Both offences were committed against one victim.

Barnes was arrested on November 7, 2014 and charged on September 14, 2015.

He will be sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on June 23.

“This has been very traumatic for the victim and her family and I am pleased for all involved that there has been an admission of guilt,” said investigating officer, Det Con Marcus Miller from Thames Valley Police Force CID.

“The victim was extremely brave throughout this investigation and I am very proud of her.

“Thames Valley Police always takes reports of this nature seriously and will conduct a thorough investigation.
