A PAEDOPHILE has been given an indeterminate prison sentence after pleading guilty to 53 serious sexual assaults against children.
The 49-year-old, from Fullers Slade, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was given a minimum term of six years and 102 days when he appeared at Huntingdon Crown Court on Friday, December 17.
The indeterminate sentence of Imprisonment for Public Protection means that after his minimum sentence is served he does not have an automatic right to be released.
He will then only be considered for release if he can prove that he is no longer a public risk. However, he will be on strict licence conditions and be on the Sex Offenders Register for the rest of his life.
He pleaded guilty to 36 counts of rape, seven indecent assaults, three sexual assaults with a child or family member, two counts of sex with an adult or relative and five counts of indecency with a child.
