A man who was hit and killed by a train close to Milton Keynes Central station on Wednesday morning has been named as Trevor Wilmot.

The inquest into his death was opened at Milton Keynes Coroner’s Court on Friday. The 41-year-old was from Old Stratford and was hit by a train just north of the station.

Commuters travelling between Milton Keynes and London Euston faced severe delays after all lines going through the city were closed to allow the emergency services to attend.
