A man has been sentenced to 29 months in jail after pleading guilty to burglary.

Carl Nelson, 41, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary and was then sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday.

Nelson climbed through the window of a ground floor flat in Mullion Place, Fishermead, on the morning of February 1.

He was challenged by residents, who escorted him off the premises.

They then called police and after an investigation, Nelson was arrested on February 6 and charged with burglary the following day.

No-one was injured during the incident, and nothing was stolen.
