On December 5, the 56-year-old pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court to making indecent photographs of children and two counts of breaching a sexual offences prevention order.

He was last week sentenced at the same court to three years and three months’ imprisonment for the indecent images offence and six months’ imprisonment for the breach of SOPO, to run consecutively.

Det Con Mark Stalder, from Abingdon Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT), said: “This investigation involved hard work from a team of officers including those in the POLIT and the High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU) in particular, who were praised by the judge during Phillips’ sentencing.

“I am pleased to see the investigation achieved the successful conviction of Phillips, who the judge described as a “committed paedophile” with a “horrendous record of offending.”
