A man has been jailed for attacking someone as they slept.
Kristian Smith, 40, straddled his victim in bed before punching him in the face and body repeatedly.
The 36-year-old also sustained injuries to his head, believed to be caused by a Stanley knife, while sleeping at a house in Silbury Boulevard on October 1.
Smith, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court on January 4 to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was sentenced on the same day to three years’ imprisonment and a restraining order protecting the victim from harassment.
PC Shannon Smith said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack on a victim who was unarmed and asleep at the time.
“The length of the sentence is fitting for the type of crime which was committed.”
