Man jailed for sexual offences against children in Milton Keynes

A man has been sentenced to five years and six months' imprisonment for sexual offences against children following a Thames Valley Police investigation.

James Sedgwick, aged 60, of Falcon Crescent of Flitwick, Bedfordshire, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court last Monday.

He was convicted at the same court a week earlier, having been found guilty of four counts of indecent assault by unanimous verdict following a four day trial.

Sedgwick’s offences occurred in the Milton Keynes area and involved two female children.

The offences against the first victim occurred between 1988 and 1989.

The offences against the second victim occurred in 2014.

Investigating officer, detective constable Michele Weston, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit based at Bletchley police station, said: “This has been a lengthy investigation and has taken place over a significant period of time.

“I would like to thank the victims and their families for their bravery and support throughout this process.

“Thanks to their courage, Sedgwick has now been convicted and imprisoned, and I hope that they will be able to start to move forward with their lives.”
