A MAN in his 40s was found dead by firefighters who attended a blaze at his Stony Stratford flat.

Two crews from Great Holm along with one from Newport Pagnell and another from Bletchley went to the scene on Monday, December 20, at around 1.37am.

The cause of the fire is unknown at the moment, but it is being investigated by Thames Valley Police as not suspicious.

Bucks Fire and Rescue’s area manager, Darryl Keen, said: “This was a tragic incident and our thoughts go out to the man’s family and friends and the community. An investigation has begun into the cause of the fire.”
