FIFTY crews, hundreds of visitors and £2,000 raised – but only one Magic of Motoring charity car run.
While many were waking up to a hangover on New Year’s Day, others were enjoying the Magic of Motoring’s First Run event.
Crowds gathered at Aston Martin Lagonda Limited in Newport Pagnell as Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Debbie Brock flagged the cars off.
Drivers had to navigate from the starting point to the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone and then back again.
Red Bull’s head of race engineering, Ian Morgan, made a guest appearance in a 1959 Porsche 356A Coupe enjoying a ride with slightly less power than the title winning RB6.
Mick Pacey, from Magic of Motoring, said: “The First Run will definitely become an annual event with an increase entry to 75 cars and a new route already planned.”
