Willen Hospice is not feeling blue about its new fundraising challenge - and the Mayor of Milton Keynes agrees.

{As reported by the Citizen two weeks ago\}, the hospice is facing a predicted cash shortfall of £500k, and wants our readers to help.

So between March 2-8 the hospice will be running the Go Blue charity challenge, asking locals to wear blue, bake blue and get involved in different event activities taking place across Milton Keynes.

Mayor Derek Eastman has kicked off the blue fun, donning a snazzy blue wig.

Paul Hinson, Chief Executive at Willen Hospice, said “We’re in a very difficult financial position and our Go Blue for Willen week is an opportunity for Willen Hospice to raise much-needed funds to help us continue to offer our specialist care and support to our patients and their families.

“Willen Hospice belongs to the people of Milton Keynes and we’d urge the community to get involved in Go Blue for Willen week, have fun and raise lots of money for their hospice”.
