Medical education efforts in Milton Keynes get top marks after inspection

Designed to assure themselves of the education and training being provided by CNWL as a local education provider, the visit showed that CNWL’s medical education provision had turned the corner and was innovative in its thinking and was successfully recruiting to all its training posts.

Michael Bannon, The Post Graduate Dean, described the visit as ‘enjoyable, informative, enlightening and uplifting’ in his report.

The visiting team acknowledged the turnaround in fortunes that training at Milton Keynes Community Health Services has undergone in the last three to four years since CNWL started running Community Services in Milton Keynes.

Before this it had been considered below par.

The Campbell Centre came in for high praise in terms of the learning environment it provided to trainees.

“As a team we have put in a lot of hard work to ensure that trainees who come to us have the best experience possible,” said John Lowe, director of education.

“Behind this achievement has been years of hard work by students, staff and leads in both education, services and senior management, working together across the patch and the division as a whole so these comments are a vindication of all our efforts.”
