Member of Parliament: a new addition to Takeover Day

Takeover Day is a national event led by the Children’s Commissioner for England, and offers the chance for young people to enter a competition to become a senior civic figure for the day, be it the Mayor, the chief of police or director of people at the council.
Last week applications for this year’s Takeover Day, happening on Friday, November 18, were made avaliable so children can apply to spend a day learning about the job role.

Iain Stewart MP, said: “I am very pleased to have my role commandeered for a day by a Milton Keynes student so that they can learn about the varied role of a Member of Parliament; perhaps after the day they might decide to enter politics in some form.”
To enter the competition, young people up to the age of 19 who are in school, college, or training will need to download an applications pack and return it by November 1 at midday.
