Despite treacherous weather conditions on Sunday, five brave teams from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) ran the Green City marathon.
All of the MIB teams put forward finished the relay race in good times, with an exceptional performance by the Corporate Challenge relay team who triumphed by winning the event against 99 other teams.
The winning group consisted out of Daniel Wylie, Mark Armstrong, Amy Mickley and Fiona Salusbury who managed to secure the trophy with a finishing time of 3 hours and 25 minutes.
More than £2,300 was raised by MIB for their nominated charity – The Children’s Trust, a charity that provides care and rehabilitation to children with multiple disabilities and brain injury.
Ashton West, Chief Executive at the Motor Insurers’ Bureau said: ”We were delighted to be part of the 3,000 people that participated in the marathon and would like to thank all those that took part in the event.
“It was a real challenge at times to deal with the wet and windy weather, but the fact that we had five teams that persevered and one that was victorious in the relay division, is testament to the tenacity and determination we see across the business. We look forward to taking part again next year and will continue to raise money for The Children’s Trust.”
