Milton Keynes is in the grip of a homelessness crisis. It is in the top 50 worst areas in the country for homelessness, and in the South East of England only Brighton has a higher level of homelessness.

This has prompted Michael Graham and Milton Keynes Citizens Advice to get together to raise money for a cause which covers one of the most basic of human rights - the right to shelter.

Simon Hill, of Michael Graham, said:"We at Michael Graham are all fortunate enough not only to live in comfortable, safe houses, but also to sell some of the most desirable homes on the market. "Our partnership with the Citizens Advice aims to draw attention to the issue of homelessness and to give back to a charity which is local to our business.”

As the UK’s largest advice provider, the Citizens Advice is equipped to deal with any issue, from anyone, spanning debt and employment to consumer and housing plus everything in between.

Their team of volunteers, supported by a small team of paid staff, operate telephone, face to face and email advice services that are available to anybody who wants to use them.

Advice is confidential, impartial and free of charge, with most of work being supported by a mix of donations, charitable grants and some funding from central and local government.

In addition to providing support, Citizens Advice aims to influence, change and affect the policies and practice that affect people’s daily lives.

The money raised from The Glitter Ball will be enable the bureau to place an advisor in the MK food bank who will be on hand to help visitors get back on their feet

and not have to rely on its services in future. We look forward to being able to pass on your generous donations to the Milton Keynes Citizens Advice Bureau and

are certain that they will be more than gratefully received.
