Millbrook, one of Europe’s leading independent technology centres has been shortlisted in the prestigious Transport for London Awards 2014.
The centre, which is responsible for the design, engineering, test and development of automotive and propulsion systems, is a pioneer in low carbon technology. It has been shortlisted in the Transport Supplier category with the results to be announced on March 6.
The awards are designed to recognise excellence in transport, rewarding innovation and progress for transport initiatives which are really working.
Millbrook has been recognised for its work in providing all of TfL’s whole vehicle and emissions testing requirements. As a result, Millbrook has benchmarked every TfL bus and helped improve the air quality in London. Millbrook’s expert engineers also assisted in writing the UK Green Bus Fund test specifications, which promote lower CO2 and GHG vehicles into the market.
Following the announcement, Kevin Moxey, group head of planning and government relations for Millbrook, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. We are very proud of the work we are doing in partnership with TfL and the contribution our engineers are making to a safer and more environmentally friendly public transport system in London.”
