The well attended event marked the end of the Muslim religious festival Ramadan.

A large number of residents attended the event at Sycamore Hall, which was organised by the Milton Keynes Bangladeshi Association.

Milton Keynes Councillor Mohammed Khan was joined by former Lib Dem city Mayor Derek Eastman and Tory MP Ian Stewart.

MK Community Foundation Chief Executive Julie Upton was also present.

“The EID event was a great success and highlights how the city values all its residents,” said Cllr Khan.

“This reinforces the desire of all parties in the new city to challenge hate crime and to create an inclusive new city.”
