Milton Keynes carol service to benefit orphaned children

The Andante Choir will host a carol service in aid of orphaned children in Sri Lanka tomorrow evening (Thursday)

It will be an opportunity to support the children who have faced the horrors of the tsunami and the decades of civil war in Sri Lanka. Their tenacity to survive and make good the opportunities has been very encouraging. and three children for the orphanage have entered the University this year alone.

A safe haven of a caring home with the opportunity to learn and play is bearing fruit, thanks to Milton Keynes charity Hope Outreach UK. The orphanage now has 10 milking cows, free range chickens and a large grape and vegetable cultivation to support local nutrition.

Hope Outreach UK volunteers have been running free humanitarian Medical Clinics and Children’s programmes amongst the very poor and vulnerable since 1990 bringing hope and relief to needy people. Moew than 125 volunteers from the UK have actively engaged in these programmes in Sri Lanka.

The Revd Dr Sam Muthuveloe, secretary of Hope Outreach UK, said: “We have built over 100 permanent houses, two orphanages, a Medical Centre and restored two churches following the tsunami and civil war. “We are in the process of building a large community centre for the welfare of the local people,” he added,
