Milton Keynes College ambassador and partners programme announced

Offering a route for local organisations to strengthen their business by ‘tapping into’ the vast learning opportunities the college offers, the programme supports businesses.

Created in 2014, the Partnership Programme also underpins MK College’s corporate social responsibility bid, which was recently recognised by the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards under the Community Impact category.

Each year the college selects individuals from organisations within the programme as Ambassadors, both within and outside of their organisation, awarding them with an indefinite status.

Last year’s named Ambassador, Jean Gowin, managing Director at Jeanius Consulting said: “I am delighted to continue as an ambassador having been appointed last year.

“The college is at the very heart of Milton Keynes and I’m keen to support their ongoing work with local businesses and the wider community.

“Strong supportive partnerships, that benefit both the college and businesses have never been more important, especially with Milton Keynes being such a vibrant and growing city, and Jeanius has benefited both from a business and employment perspective.”

This year’s Ambassadors are named as Paul Sharp from Kidsplay and Philip Smith MBE of MK Business Leaders.

Among the current crop of partners are many household brand names and major employers which include NiftyLift, PJ Care and Movey.

“We’re delighted to be able to announce our ambassadors, partners, friends and associates for the coming months and beyond,” said MK College’s Commercial Director, Jane Horridge.

“By building relationships such as these, we’re helping to support the growth of locally-based businesses, which in turn is assisting the community of Milton Keynes and its growing industrial ecosystem.

“Without the dedicated support and commitment of this network, the challenge of transforming lives through learning would be even greater and for that we are eternally appreciative.”
