Milton Keynes College announces new -elearning course in nursing and midwifery

Milton Keynes College has announced the launch of a new online Higher Education access course, specifically designed for students looking to carve a career in nursing, midwifery or social care.

With flexible ‘roll on roll off’ start dates and 24/7 access to online tutors, together with a Government loan scheme – which repays all access course tuition fees if students go on to secure a place at university – Milton Keynes College is in hope this new HE access model will attract individuals from all over UK, helping to address the widely reported shortage in both nursing and midwifery.

The College’s head of business engagement, Kaye Dwight, confirmed: “Classroom-based access courses are traditionally oversubscribed, with many students either unable to secure a place or take the time to travel to an access course college, particularly if studying alongside a part-time job.

“Here at Milton Keynes College we feel the launch of our new digital, healthcare-specific access course couldn’t come at a better time – offering students an accessible, affordable and engaging e-learning program with unlimited places, which they can undertake any time, any place and expect to complete within a period of 6-18 months.”

The new Milton Keynes College HE access courses in nursing, midwifery and social care are available for all students aged 19-plus, who have secured a minimum GCSE ‘C’ grade in Maths and English.

The access course is the latest development of the Milton Keynes College e-learning platform, which was implemented in partnership with e-Careers in summer 2015.
