Milton Keynes Community Foudnation winner bags a car - for a quid!

The winner was shopping at centre:mk with her partner before Christmas, it was getting near to closing time when she noticed the Milton Keynes Community Foundation Car Raffle stand.

She only just caught Company MK, a local theatre group, as they were about to pack up from their afternoon of selling raffle tickets and decided to take a chance and buy just one ticket!

The winner was presented with the keys to her new car at a presentation evening held at the Volkswagen showroomlast week. 

Winner Aniko said: “I still can’t believe it, I’m still in shock. I didn’t own a car before so it will have a real impact on my life, we’re already planning a weekend away, something that would have been so much harder to achieve without this fantastic prize”

The evening of celebration saw many of the groups and charities who sold tickets come together to recognise their incredible achievement - raising £25.888!

Community groups and charities who take part in the raffle retain at least 50% of the funds raised from ticket sales and the remaining money goes towards MK Community Foundation’s grant making programme, benefiting community groups across Milton Keynes.
