Milton Keynes does have a history - and the archaeology to prove it

A rare Roman coin forgers kit, found at Fenny Stratford, has just returned from a loan to the British Museum, where it was featured as part of their Hoards: A Hidden History exhibition.

The show ran for five months and was seen by more than 150,000 people.

Currently cared for by Bucks County Museum, the kit will be returning to Milton Keynes in 2018, when the MK Museum expansion opens.

Another hoard, found just north of the city, is currently part of a groundbreaking scheme to put real archaeological objects into primary schools, linking in to the new national history curriculum.

The Rubbish Money tour has already taken real Roman coins from the 4th century AD into six schools in the new city.

The tour will continue in 2017, and schools wanting to take part should contact the museum directly.
