Milton Keynes drug dealer jailed for almost four years

Alvin Anthony French, 33, of Melrose Avenue, Bletchley, appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday.

On April 28 last year, a warrant was executed by police at a first-floor flat on Dunthorne Way in Grange Farm, Milton Keynes.

During the warrant suspected stolen goods were discovered, along with a small safe in the lounge which contained £6,000 and small ‘deal bags’ and electronic scales were also found.

As the address was being searched by officers, French turned up and was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

After the flat was searched, officers then examined the communal area situated at the entrance on the ground floor.

A letterbox to the flat was opened and a black carrier bag containing a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs was recovered.

The drugs were later identified as a mixture of street-prepared drug deals and amounts of heroin still to be prepared for sale.

There were 304 wraps of heroin weighing more than 47 grams and 125 wraps of crack cocaine weighing more than 16 grams.

There were also three packages of heroin weighing more than 114 grams. In total, more than 179 grams of Class A drugs was found, which had an estimated street value of £12,000.

French was positively identified as connected with the drugs in the letterbox, and at Friday’s court hearing he pleaded guilty to offences of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply diamorphine/heroin and acquire/use/possess criminal property (POCA).

Investigating officer, Det Con Mark Burgess said: “This warrant exposed a huge quantity of illicit drugs which French had been preparing to supply, and I hope this sentence acts as a deterrent to those involved in drug-related criminality.

“We are committed to tackling the misuse and supply of controlled drugs within our communities.

“Thames Valley Police will always robustly investigate such offences, make arrests and bring defendants before the courts.”
