Milton Keynes employment rate at record high

Nationally the unemployment rate has fallen to an 11 year low of 4.8 per cent.

But here in Milton Keynes there has been a 58per cent reduction in people claiming benefits since 2010.

A Jobcentre spokesman said: “We deliver tailor-made services to meet employers’ recruitment needs.”

One of these successful initiatives is the ‘Sector Based Work Academy’ which offers a bespoke training package, work experience – and even a guaranteed job interview.

Over recent months Milton Keynes Jobcentre staff have been working with employers in a pre-Christmas drive to fill their seasonal vacancies, particularly in the warehouse/distribution and retail/hospitality sectors.

The jobcentre team will be at the Job Show at thecentre.mk on Friday January 27 and Saturday January 28, 2017 for people to go along and discuss local employment opportunities.
