Firefighters in Milton Keynes have been kept busy over the past couple of days - here's a taster

Firefighters from Broughton, Newport Pagnell and Great Holm were called to assist Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue on Saturday afternoon, following a collision involving two vehicles, on the M1 southbound, at junction 13 (Milton Keynes South).

They used hydraulic rescue equipment to release an injured man, and made the scene safe.

An overheated oven at the Tesco store on Stratford Road in Wolverton was dealt with by crews from Great Holm, Newport Pagnell and Bletchley on Sunday morning.

They made use of a thermal imaging camera, and isolated the electricity to the oven before giving advice.

On Monday afternoon, they were called to the rescue of a baby who was accidentally locked in a car, in Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell.

A smelly job presented itself on Monday night, when Newport Pagnell and Waddesdon crews were called in after manure and woodchip caught fire in a field, off A509 at Filgrave.

Firefighters used a main jet, hose reels, haydrags and a water tanker. Mon night 8:34

A cooker fire in Bradville earlier this morning (Tues) was attended by crews fromGreat Holm and Broughton.

Firefighters isolated the electrcity and gave oxygen to a woman who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
