Freemasons have raised £3,500 for Willen Hospice in a fundraising drive.

Members of Longueville lodge have collected money which will go towards providing free, specialist palliative care and support for families of terminally ill people.

Lodge president Philip Hughes said: “Freemasonry is all about friendship, integrity, and charity, so supporting people in our community with life-limiting conditions is a priority for us.

“At the cornerstone of every freemason’s life is his family, so we empathize with anyone whose loved ones are facing serious illness.”

Longueville is one of nine lodges and three chapters, which meet at the Masonic Centre in Queensway, Bletchley, to organize social events and raise cash for MK charities.
