Milton Keynes GP surgery closed after serious incident involving firearm

Roads were cordoned off and a medical centre is closed as police deal with an incident involving a firearm in Milton Keynes.

Patients of Water Eaton surgery were today sent text messages ordering them to "stay away to be safe".

The message states: "Please do not attend Water Eaton today. There has been an incident in the area. If you have an appointment please attend Whaddon Medical Centre."

It is understood an ongoing incident started last night (Sunday) on Water Eaton.

Police were called at 5.30pm following reports that a firearm had been discharged multiple times at an address in Serpentine Court on the Lakes estate.

Armed police attended and residents living nearby were told to stay in their houses.

It is understood the incident continued overnight but that a 26-year-old man has now been arrested.
