Milton Keynes home severely damaged in fire, other incidents reported by the emergency services

A two-storey home in Milton Keynes was severely damaged in a fire yesterday evening (April 22).

The incident took place at 10:42pm on Ravigill Place in Hodge Lea.

The home affected was the end terrace house on the street, everyone was accounted for once the fire was quelled.

Firefighters used two main jets, four sets of breathing apparatus and fans to extinguish the flames.

There was also a Thames Valley Police presence at the scene.

Another fire reported in the past 24 hours saw an out-of-control bonfire spread to a nature reserve.

The incident took place at 3:10pm yesterday at Blue Lagoon Local Nature Reserve, on Barton Road in Bletchley. The fire was put out using a hose reel.

A third child needed rescuing from a playground swing in Milton Keynes since lockdown restrictions eased.

One crew of firefighters were able to rescue the girl using a toolkit. The girl was left uninjured, the incident took place at Victoria Park on Stacey Avenue in Wolverton, yesterday evening at around 7:25pm.
